Algal
concentrates
By popular request for supplies of
concentrated micro-algae we are now holding stocks in the United Kingdom
of high quality algal concentrates manufactured by Reed Mariculture Inc.
Ideal for rotifer culture due to the high nutritional profile and
elimination of shock caused by mismatches in pH and salinity between
rotifer water and algae water in traditional culture methods. Gives very
high densities of rotifers. |

Algal cultures
Varicon Aqua sells plate master cultures of common aquaculture species that can be stored in
a cold dark place for months, eliminating the need to continuously
sub-culture liquid stock masters.
Common
strains used in aquaculture are available for immediate delivery. Other strains can be grown to order in any desired volume. Only
axenic cultures, sterile nutrients and pure water (for marine organisms we
use artificial seawater) are used in the preparation of our cultures.
Purchasing large volumes of algae reduces algal production time, avoids
shock from dilution in the on-growing environment and improves survival in

Tubular Bioreactors
Tubular bioreactors grow
many micro-algae very successfully at between 10
and 20 times the density obtained using bag or fibre glass tank
culture methods and in a fraction of the time. There are many
literature references to the advantages of this method. Now we make it
easy for you to grow algae this way with a proven modular system that
starts at a very low cost.
We have everything you need to start using or experimenting with this
powerful means of algal production. All the materials you need and full
instructions are available from us. There are many successful
users of our own patented BioFence tubular reactor system. We can also
supply and install complete systems. All the information you need is on
this site.
