Freshwater F Strain Rotifer Cysts consist of dormant Brachionus plicatilis produced under controlled laboratory conditions to ensure cleanliness, consistency and reliable hatch performance. Each vial contains approximately 15,000–20,000 cysts, which remain stable during long-term frozen storage and can be revived whenever new cultures are required.
Hatching is initiated by placing the cysts into a shallow volume of freshwater under low, continuous light. Under suitable conditions, emergence typically occurs within 24–36 hours, followed by the rapid establishment of an active rotifer population. The resulting F strain rotifers are well suited to freshwater species that require small, uniform live prey and are commonly used in larval rearing and experimental culture systems.
