Powering algae growth worldwide.
The BioFence has so far been an invaluable tool to our research program for the production of biomass to support various project objectives, which has involved the production of biogas from anaerobic digestion of algal biomass and in the area of high value pigments and other co-products.”

We have a a 30 m3 Phyco-flow system in our microalgae biorefinery and we had been very fortunate to work with an excellent engineering team at Varicon-Aqua since the very beginning of initial design to installation and commissioning. We always receive great support from Varicon-Aqua which makes them a valuable partner in after-sales services.

We got to know Varicon Aqua as potential technology partner through research groups previously [utilising] their applications and were advised by researchers to go for a horizontal tubular closed PBR. The [4500l] Phycoflow built by Varicon Aqua is now used to produce Chlorella. [Varicon Aqua] has showed to be experienced, reliable and professional with staff that are flexible showing responsibility, motivation and job satisfaction.

Our company recently purchased a phyco-flow unit from Varicon Aqua. We have been entirely satisfied with our business dealing. Varicon was extremely reactive and Varicon provided excellent advice to ensure the unit fitted our specific needs. The unit is well built and was delivered according to schedule. Their site personnel were very professional and provided training on the unit. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

In 2015 we placed an order with Varicon for two Phyco-Flow tubular PBR systems. One R&D scale unit with a total volume of 600L and a larger production scale unit with a total volume of 30,000L featuring automated shade controls and temperature control via misting. We have been very happy with the performance of both systems and the continued support from Varicon in both the start-up period and continuing to the present day. Whilst there are other suppliers of PBR’s on the market, I don’t believe any of them can offer the level of assistance, customization and after install support that Varicon has proven to supply.
